TIB Compatibility

If It Isn't Broken...

Rai Technology is offering TIB compatibility because we understand the tremendous investment our customers have made in their existing TIB infrastructure, and we're committed to helping them preserve that investment. Rai's compatibility offerings allow our customers to focus resources on initiatives that return true ROI, instead of costly migration efforts that provide little return to the business.

Compatibility

Rai' products offer the following compatibility .

Wire compatibility with existing TIB products:
Drop in TIC replacement capability: To a TIB application, the Rai Cache appears to be a TIC. No code changes.
TIBMsg support: Rai's implementation of TIBMsg (RaiMsg) extends TIBMsg while retaining backwards compatibility with TIBMsg.
CiServer and RV5 API support:
Rai Automation providing a simple and no-frills but high-performance drop-in replacement for TIB Automation . Existing spreadsheets require no changes.

Migration

Rai also offers two options to help ease the transition from CiServer to Rendezvous and future transport technologies:

ciRV: Rai's ciRV product allows applications written to the TIB API to run on top of TIBCO Rendezvous without any code changes. To a TIB application, ciRV appears to be a CiServer.
Rai's thunking API allows applications to be easily recompiled to switch between from CiServer transport to Rendezvous.
